Just an FYI: Paypal did some maintenance and IPNs aren't getting verified right now.

PayPal usually resends the IPN notifications several times until the seller's IPN confirms the purchase.

I would wait and see if the notifications are resent before manually updating any accounts. Otherwise, the purchases will get doubled when the IPN starts working again.

Well, not sure if it works through IPN or PDT on
traffic exchanges... just know that it works through
PDT on my Halloween Giveaway that I just pre-launched.

I guess there is no other way than doing it manually if
the script uses PDT.

Does anybody know if the LJ's credit the accounts
through the IPN?

Yes, the problem will be pretty much across the board since this is an issue with the http port that the IPN sends through. Apparently it's working fine if you use the https pathway, but I would venture to guess that almost nobody here does.

According to the engineering department (programming geeks :)), they are not sure when this issue will be resolved but that the IPNs are being put into their queue and will start to flow as soon as the issue is corrected.

So, it might be best to wait it out a bit rather than do all that stuff manually since those IPNs could start to come through pretty soon.

As for any customers that are reading this thread, please be patient and as a general rule, never file a paypal dispute without first trying to get a response from the website owner ... man that's frustrating!

That's too funny ... that was their specific 'get around' to this issue. Although maybe this would only be for NEW purchases because when a purchase comes through and the IPN is created, perhaps this is when the port for connecting to the script is established. Not sure on this one since I am not exactly a programmer myself ... but it seems plausible.

As for doing them manually ... YIKES! I think there are just over 80 IPNs that we are waiting for (so far). I don't know anyone that would want that job!

Ah, paypal ... never a dull moment.

Anyone know how to do these manually? Like from Pay Pal's members area?

If you still have the emails in most you see the User ID number use that
to find them in the admin, if you don't see an ID number you can use the
email address since that's not always the same you can use the name
since that is not always the same if it isn't as last you can go to your IPN
transaction in admin and check whom bought before exactly 30 days ago
for the monthly subscribtions.

If you don't have the emails same thing but then from Paypal. (When
logged in) so check from Paypal then userID then email address etc etc.

What I wonder now they say they fixed it shouldn't we not have to do this
at all?
