I'm toying with the idea, but would love to get some feedback. Email notices would still be sent every Thursday but instead of the HTML format of the newsletter it would be a blog. Let me know what you think.

Jon, if you set the blog index to only show 1 post then essentially it would remain a "HTML newsletter". You'd just be adding in proper SEO & a searchable archive by moving to a blog platform  It would also encourage interaction with your readers as they would be able to comment on that issue ;)

I think moving the HEN to a blog gives you "one level" less personalization. You are in a forum that is controlled by someone else with THEIR content and rules controlling YOUR pages.

I suppose the trade-off advantage there would be the ability for us to comment on each issue which could lead to great fun!

Hmmm...

Maybe if you could somehow force a "tribute" to the original HEN whereby new users could see what it looked like and also force a link to an explanation as to why you switched to a blog then you could cover yourself for new users and let existing users have loads of fun with comments!

So under those conditions I would say YES otherwise NO.

Hey Jon,

A blog would be the perfect platform for Hit Exchange News...

How often would you post then? once a week? once a month?

Will be interesting to see how you implement this change.

BTW... I read your book... love it! Lot of insight on TE's there.

Jon,

A blog setup would be pretty kewl to do. I see that happening more and more and what Jon A. has already mentioned does make sense.

Got my vote!
