You didn't post the verification link.

How can we click the verification link unless you post it?

The joke isn't funny unless we can complete it by clicking the verification link.

Jon, there are a lot of people that don't like
you for one or more reasons. (shock)
I have had people plug in my known email address
for mailing lists, and other stuff. A lot of crappy
people on the net. You publish your email, phone
number, and more. Not hard to sign you up
for a lot of junk if someone was so inclined.
You might ask the tunnel rat guy if he has an ISP
for that signup. And he may be interested to
know that this happened. Most people know your
user name on a lot of stuff is realincome.
It just sounds fishy. Even the most lame-ass
owners would never sign up the mighty Jon Olson
on their own. Why would they risk bad publicity?

When it rains, it pours. If they see they have your
goat they will go for the whole farm. I can almost
bet you will see more of these.

Good luck with this crap!

Wouldn't it also open them up for charges of online fraud, identity theft, etc. as well???

Prosecution can carry very heftyyyyy fines/imprisonment for that!!!

How could anyone be soooo stupid???

Brian

P.S. Wave that in their face(s) if you have the ISP/user traced. That should stop it in a heartbeat!

This happens a lot at a lot of places.
That's why a lot of emails (including some at blue-surf) have a message in the email like "if you did not request this email - simply delete it".
It sure is crappy though. A spam technique it seems.

So... an opt-in site that mails without an opt-in--that's SPAM isn't it??

They must not have (1) their autoresponder set up correctly, or (2) it's not working
correctly, or (3) they set it up that way intentionally.

Tell 'em!

Brian
