I have been a silent (most of the time) member here for quite some time. I only state that so you know that I do lurk here and gain some very valuable information and knowledge. My beef today is that I see so many people ho preach about being honest and ethical. Or maybe just stating that owners and members of anything should stop doing one thing or another because it's not right or it's cheating.

My opinion is that most of us are starving out here and I feel that if you tore away the pretty package that I hear or read about that you would find that most of the folks out there would be willing to sell their own mother for a buck or 2. Now I realize that this may not apply to all and I am not speaking about any one in particular so don't start all yout "who are you talking about" crap.

Those who fit the description will know who they are. I would like to get a feel for if anyone else feels the same as I do. That a majority of folks out there be them TE owners or marketers or members of affiliate programs or whatever, fit into that category.

Yes, I am willing to admit that I am one of those people.

No need to panic. Starving on the internet is merely an act of self endulgence. In other words if you’re starving, look in the mirror hard and ask your self what's wrong. You did the right thing, by asking your question.

Just imagine, the world wide web, the internet is at your finger tips and you're starving. Why? You must study more and then apply what you learn. Just because something worked years ago does not mean it will work today. The planet and the internet has changed considerably and it’s still changing. One thing for sure is this. There are people here and we are making money.

I address details in my other writings however,
those who don’t work hard and stay up to date, loose.

I don't know anyone on NMF regular, friend or foe, that
meets that criteria. And I'm thinking pretty hard. If you
are talking giving people the hard sell, I've come to live
with that. But I have never seen or heard anyone regular
here who would "sell their mother." And I certainly do
not fit that either. If you are stooping to the "sell
your mother" attitude, you won't last long. That has
a hint of dishonesty. There are much easier ways of
making money than online. One does not need to have a
"sell their mother" attitude.

The only one I can think of at the moment is smiley.
But he uses his mother and claims he does not make
money.

If you did not mean such a drastic low, perhaps I'm
reading your post wrong.

I should add by the way, times are tough for 90% of us right now............things have slowed down everywhere.

It's how we act during these tough times that truly define the content of our character.

Not quite sure what to make of this either. But there is no need to single out thanks to the
following statement!

Quote:
That a majority of folks out there be them TE owners or marketers or members of
affiliate programs or whatever, fit into that category.

Just slapped the face of more than half of us! 'Course it's only a slap to those who don't fit
into that category that are in the majority! (Did you follow that?)

I admit that I have been duped into selling some crap in the past, blind and unlearned in some
of the devious programs, products, or services, instead of selling a valuable product. That's
why I/we usually procure and review a product or service before promoting it now.

My final answer: You don't know me. How well do you know any of us? I try to
remember not to respond to people who assume to know my ethics and integrity or any
other of my personal beliefs and values. I have found that no matter what I say, they still
may never know me well enough to know better. Depends on how and through what eyes or
mind they see me, or everything else for that matter! I don't know what you see through
the "glasses" that you wear in your mind/the filters that you have on your lenses.

(Although, methinks thy spectacles are tinted darkly! Since you are the only one here that
you know well and see through your own perspective! But you know that. You already
admitted as much.)

I'm not trying to defend myself or anyone else here. I'm just making my observations.

Brian

I was curious to see what the response would be. Obviously those who fit that category (other than myself) would be truly hesitant to admit they fit that catagory as it would be detrimental to their business and/or reputation. No this has nothing to do with mailing your TE clients. I do find it interesting that the name of the forum is "NetMarketingForum" yet most of what's here has to do with the TE's.

Anyway, I don't want to stray too far off topic here. My rant is due to my private chats and conversations with a lot of people who preach one thing (ethics, honesty, and so forth) but do business a complete opposite.

I watch people comment here and in other forums about how this one or that one should be more ethical or they should stop doing something or other because it's not exactly honest. BUT, when it comes to the backroom conversations you discover that the motivation for this is simply because they are pissed that they didn't think of it first.

No it has nothing to do with the current economy as I have seen this as far back as 2002. I admire what a lot of you have done and the creativity that you have to posses to continue to repackage the same old stuff and attempt to make it new again. I just have a problem with people who cannot come to terms with who they truly are. Embrace what you are and use the talents you have. Don't discourage others from doing what you yourself are most likely doing right now.

Help them to not make the mistakes or get screwed instead. When I was a TE owner, there were a lot of folks who would say "I will help you succeed" and I trusted them because they (at least appeared) to succeeding themselves. After a short period of time they would begin to do nothing more than pump me for ideas and use them as their own.

Or advise me to do or say a certain thing and then chastise me infront of our peers for doing so. Before you ask it was not one particular person or one particular program. It was however very enlightening as to how some people operate. It has happened, it does happen, and it still happens.

I tell noobs on a daily basis, TRUST NO ONE and give as good as you get!

Trust no one....Not sure if that's good advice. Reason, you want people to trust you. You want to build relationships. So telling people, especially newer marketers, to beware of everyone...Well, kind of shoots you in the foot.

As for your rant, not sure who you are referring to with it but hey, it's your beef man. Good on ya for spilling it.

I think you need a fresh new positive atitude, mindset.
All of us have been duped one way or another online and in business.
What goes around comes around. Be happy and keep on keepin' on.
Get a little tougher and also take some stuff with a grain of salt.

My quess: This rant is about a previous TE owner who needed help and didnt get it.

There are dozens and dozens of TE owners who need help with their TEs. It is impossible to help all of them.

Many people start online because they want to fire their offline bosses and be their own bosses. So where is their leadership? Do you REALLY want to be your own boss when you cant take the responsibility of your own actions and need step-by-step instructions on what to do next?

I agree with this one. You need your skills to be better than others in the competitive environment.

Code:
Don't discourage others from doing what you yourself are most likely doing right now.
It depends on the person if s/he takes things as discouragement or education.

As for the selling, it is YOUR choice to buy or not to buy a certain products. It is the sellers job to create the need and feed the need created.

oh well - :blahblah:
