Do you find yourself surfing the hit exchanges more often that require you surf a number of sites to remain 'active' or does this have little to do with how active you remain in a program. Post your votes and keep thiose comments coming! :)

I will login and surf at an exchange that sends me a warning...

Generally, an inactivity notice will get my attention. I'll probably log in and click a few within a day or so of getting one of these.

I try and stay active, and thus avoid these notices, but I often get "hung up" on my favorite exchanges and neglect the surfing requirements of some of the others.

So yeah, I think it's cool that some programs will send out a reminder of some sort.

It really depends on the exchange that sends the notice. Most often, I've already decided that it's not working for me and that I just forgot to kill the account. If I join an exchange, it's with the intention of being active or of not being a member at all.

The exchanges that don't give me as much bang for my time are the ones that I opt out of. For instance, if I'm a free member and I'm getting less than .5 credits, or if the member base is low and I don't see it growing, I'm more liable to opt out.

My whole day is based around the time I have to perform the tasks I need to accomplish to keep my business growing. If I have an exchange giving me a good return in business for my time, I'm very loyal.

At one time I found warning messages very helpful and went immediately into my inactive traffic exchanges to make them active. These days, time is at a premium and I've developed a fair amount of resistance to those exchanges who continually allow members to post sites with annoying popups and loud videos. I've become more discerning. The quality of the sites I view has moved to the forefront of my motivation. I'm less interested in viewing affiliate after affiliate website advertising the same eBook reseller package and more interested in networking with real people who have genuine businesses. The main goal, after all, is to develop and cross pollinate interests and ideas; not necessarily only to Internet Marketers. The more versitile the traffic exchange the more appealing to me.

Best regards,

I don't mind them since where, when and how much I surf is determined by how many hits I have remaining. If an exchange is holding more than 300 hits I don't surf it for a while. I try to surf or at least check my stats in every exchange at least one time a month to keep up to date.

INDEED! You're on my wavelength.

I hate noise when I'm surfing. I like to listen to informative speakers or music when surfing and the inane intrusions I get from the voice-overs is truly annoying.

Maybe they work, but I wonder how many people abhor those annoying voice-and music-overs and turn away?

Sorry. Off topic. You just hit a hot button, BoldVision.

The inactive warnings don't get me to login and surf. The programs effectiveness is what gets me to login and surf. Funny thing is, I don't get inactive warnings from sites that work for me and I use on a regular basis. I guess that's because I'm active... lol. If you feel you need to send out inactive warnings (IMO) maybe you need to rethink your strategies because intimidation isn't going to get members to surf.

Honestly, If I receive these warnings.... I delete it and remove the site from my Active Exchanges Bookmarks and move them to my Inactive Exchanges Bookmarks. I've went back and logged in to some of these sites MONTHS later and found my account to still be active, so the warnings are (IMO) just a intimidation ploy and these site owners usually don't even switch my account to inactive.

I've never sent out an inactive warning and if I feel the urge, i guess i'm going to be making some big changes at TS.

While I welcome the ocassional reminder email - so long as it includes my
links - I hate the wording "Inactive warning" - it sounds threatening and
off putting.

I know the 123clicks method of wiping your sites if you don't surf is not
popular here but it suits me. 30 sites is not too many. I have got into the
habit of making sure I do that the first week of every month.

Deleting my sites is preferable to deleting my account.
I can come back and fix it quickly

Julie

I am with Pat! A warning usually means I determined the exchange ineffective and have stopped surfing.

I have exchanges I surf daily, weekly and monthly.

I never, ever suf with the speakers on.....so I do not care if there is sound or not on a site.

Cheers!

Hello!
Inactivity warnings are convenient, in case a favored exchange has slipped off my radar, but I surf where I want to surf....period. My choice is much more likely to be influenced by opportunities to improve my surf ratio without upgrading (ie, TS25) or a theme I enjoy (Mystical Maze, Hit Hurricane). Results count, too, but I have a couple of small exchanges that I'm active with in anticipation of their growth and improved effectiveness. I wish folks would edit the inactivity warnings the script sends out to be a reminder, rather than a threat....a teaspoon of sugar, and all that!

Be well!

I hardly ever surf any exchange, i do buy a lot of credits though
Up to you as an owner you have to ask your self do you want to
delete my account for inactivity or not?

Don't you just love those programs that send you an inactive warning every month "You will not earn from referrals whilst your account is inactive!" Then you log in and find out you only received 10 hits all month? Then you check your referrals and see that they are all inactive and you've only received 1.3 credits total from the lot all month.

So big deal - I'm not earning from my referrals anyway. Logging in and surfing when I have hundreds, even thousands of credits assigned isn't going to change that.

Hi All,

It's been a while since I've posted.

I do love to check in and read the posts and
I always read HEN. So I'm still on top of things.

Inactivity reports have very little to
do with my surfing habits but I welcome them
every now and then.

With the hectice schedule I have It
serves as a reminder for me to log in and surf
from time to time.

In the exchanges that I know are working for me
I usually purchase credits or upgrade my account.

I don't mind the occasional reminder.
But to delete my account for inactivity?
Hmmmm. I don't know if I agree with that.

I would remove a member for constant violation
of the rules or for cheating. Not for being inactive.

Lissa

I do tend to respond to those who remind me I need to surf, but the tone of the reminder is important to me. "Threats" to me result in the deletion of my account in those programs. I realized one day that keeping traffic program owners "happy" was taking a disproportionate amount of my time. I am now much more judicial regarding my choice of program and surfing time allotted. And, if I am busy on other projects, I am willing to "suffer" the loss of exposure for my not surfing, even at the risk of being deactivated or removed from the program.
