Welcome to the newest issue of Hit Exchange News!

This week I want to address something that seems to be not only ignored but at times in online business, misrepresented. There's a popular quote, that I'm sure some guru came up with and I want to add to it. "95 % of online marketers fail"....You've all heard that one right? Here's my addition, "They failed because 95% of them have no idea what marketing is"...

I'm not a college professor and I will not lecture everyone about what IS marketing and what it is NOT, however I want to put some useful resources at your fingertips which I have found and used in my travels. Folks, internet 'marketing' is bigger then alot of the so called guru's would like for you to beleive. You are being force fed all the hype and all the promises and all the dreams that go along with the term 'internet marketer'...So let's go find out for ourselves what marketing is...Here's a start;

Function: noun

a : the act or process of selling or purchasing in a market
b : the process or technique of promoting, selling, and distributing a product or service

That's the definition courtesy of Merriam-Webster. Now here's a question I ask...Where do I find 'hype' in that?

So now we've got a definition, how about some useful resources?

Direct Marketing Association - Wow, what a useful site this is. These folks have been the advocates for your right to use e-mail marketing for years, here's another question...Why have'nt any of the guru's told you about this? Kind of important stuff huh, that thing called e-mail?

Federal Trade Commission - Yeah, some of us are not American and this site does not directly effect our abilities to do business online right? Wrong, say what you want, the Greenback rules online...Let's find out what's legal and what's not legal. Yes, laws are ever changing but personally I would like to be prepared for anything and everything!

World Association of Internet Marketers - The name says it all, but how many of us have actually heard of them? They've been around since October 2000 and are always looking to the future of internet marketing as a whole. Have a look, you may be pleasantly surprised!

Interactive Advertising Bureau - Focused on mass media and bringing their concerns and business into the internet world. Yes, it is helpful but this is a good reminder that other forms of media exist and want a peice of the internet pie...Your competition? Maybe. Your customers? Hmmmm...

These are just a few of the resources / associations I'm familiar with, beleive me there's MANY more. This industry is still in it's infancy (not only hit exchange advertising but net marketing as a whole). Not only that, but as new laws are passed and guidelines created, it's important that we decide where these changes will be, not the other way around where we just have to live with the decisions. The associations are a great starting point and again, the Net Marketing Forums are another place to network with your fellow net-preneur.

So many quotes floating around these days, so here's mine..."Let's get more substance in our business and less hype!"

• WebmasterQuest continues to release feature after feature. This time up? Detailed web stats. I had to alugh because I actually talked about the importance of tracking ines own URLs a few weeks ago and presto, WMQ comes up with this. Very cool feature and it should be a HUGE benefit for their members. Important because it shows you where the traffic is coming from, what browsers they are using, screen resolution and much more info!

• And they did'nt stop there...Nope, the good ol' boys at WMQ also pushed some new features into their CashClicking exchange. Added just a day ago is their popular card games from WMQ as well as some useful bonuses for assigned credits. You now get double what you assign, assign 100% of your credits to your URLs, get 100% bonus!

• Eternal Hits has re-vamped their surfbar this week. Instead of the old 'wait for the color to change' system they had in place their surf bar is now identical to Traffic G's (owned by the same folks). The count down also allows you to win lottery credits at 30 seconds instead of the old 60 second waiting time! Not too shabby =)

• Watch out for hit exchanges that don't deliver the hits they promised. Global Traffic Trader was recently given $19.99 by me for their 5,000 hit package. Imagine my surprise when my hits stopped at 2,000 and there were no more hits in my account. I have filed a support request, but these folks are usually very slow at responding. We shall see the outcome...Remember, track your hits ESPECIALLY if you are buying traffic!

• Remember that good old cheat program I mentioned last week? Well, the industry took notice and exchange owners have been working all week at making their exchange cheat proof. What does this mean? This means that we're (hit exchanges) are not Fort Knox, if someone wants to cheat an exchange, they can and will. What's important now is to alert the members of the exchanges on how this hurts the industry as a whole. Click responsibly and enjoy your sessions, auto surfing does'nt do anything positive and just hurts your ability to advertise effectively.

Fast Lane Traffic's old tagline used to be 'Striving to be the best'. Good idea and FLT is doing a good job of it. Here's another example of a newer hit exchange, not following a commerical script and building it themselves. Just for that fact alone, FLT is to be commended. The owner actually cares about his program and it can be seen through the site design and advertising tools avaliable.

However, FLT can be a bit confusing to a newer hit exchanger. The members area does need a second look and can be a bit confusing. Keeping that in mind, FLT has a lot of features. You can make money from your downline's upgrades which is a neat bonus plus you actually earn a banner impression each time you visit a site. Yup, one hit to your site and one banner impression per site visited.

And yes, it has all the 'normal' features of any popular hit exchange; 3:2 surfing ratios, 4 levels of referrals, visble cheat protection and daily surfing contests. All in all, Fast Lane Traffic delivers! What's really exciting is that this program is rather new and with the additions and changes that have already occured, FLT's future does look very bright!

Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine! Hmmm... What ever happened to Traffic-O-Logy, the newsletter? Hmmmm.... Speaking of disappearing programs...Was'nt ToolBar Traffic supposed to launch on September 3rd? Hmmmm...

New Program of The Week

Click Maniacs LOL, I had to laugh when I saw the graphic for this...Click below and see if you get a good chuckle! Cool graphics, cool script (a la Hit Snapper), cool little program! Click Maniacs was launched about 24 hours ago and so far it looks like another winner. The script is very similar to Hit Snapper and FreeHitsFast and wow, does it ever deliver the hits. I had about 2 dozen delivered in the first few hours and again, like last week's new program, this is impressive because they do give you a nice chunk of free hits to start you off, 100 to be exact. Their site design is very eye pleasing and easy to navigate, and their cheat protection is solid as well.
