Welcome to the newest issue of the Hit Exchange News and this week's 'One To Click On by Jon'. Happy Thanksgiving to all the American readers of Hit Exchange News, I hope you all have a safe holiday...Don't eat too much! =)

Don't worry, I won't blast your ear drums with my voice this week. I'm glad people got a kick out of last week's 'feature'...It was fun to do and I had some great feedback. However, I'm afraid my performances will be limited *lol*

That's what I really try to accomplish with H.E.N., I try to give you something new and unique every week! The most annoying thing about e-zines, I find, is that they use recycled content when they send out an issue. I'm not sure about you, but there's only so many 'Secrets of Making Money Online' articles I can use.

Be unique! That's the 'Click On' for the week. The most effective and interesting websites I've seen online are created by an individual, promoting a program they are a member of. It does'nt have to be a FLASH presentation, it does'nt need to have your voice on it, but it can if you are so inclined to do so. It can be as simple as a picture that makes you laugh, that makes you stop and notice it! It does'nt matter what you come up with, it just matters that you come up with something.

And it does'nt just have to be your website design and layout. Think outside the box! Unique thinking seems to lack online as well. Don't just 'follow the guru', if you have an idea, run with it! There's so many different companies online that would love to partner with you and build that dream business of yours. Want to own a hit exchange? Drop me a line and I'll point you in the right direction. The truth be told, you will make ALOT more money from owning your own program than being a member of one. Yes, you can make money being a member, but think of the OWNERS and how much they make!

I did'nt want this to sound too 'preachy', but I really think it's time to say this. We are all entrepreneurs in some shape or form, so let's all ACT like entrepreneurs and take risks. Get out there and get your hands dirty. Don't wait until program XYZ makes you money from their affiliate website, create your own! Don't wait to make money, make money for yourself!

Just put your touch into this wonderful industry, as we will all benefit from it!

• Sign of things to come? 4FreeHits recently changed their TOS to allow ONLY pro members to earn residual traffic. Yes, you can still surf the exchange as a free member but now you cannot earn traffic from your downline unless you upgrade. Curious to see if this will either scare away members or create more interest in the program...If anyone has any opinions on this new TOS please let me know by either posting in the forums or e-mail me with your comments! Interesting indeed!

• Start Xchange has changed it surfbar and added a new 'cheat prevention' feature. This exchange has made a huge turn around during the last few months and is improving it's service every week it seems. Seem to be taking a key from WebmasterQuest and their constant upgrades.

"There seems to be different timers on different exchanges. Which are more productive to use, a short 15 second timer or a longer 30 second timer?"

My reply;

Great question!

About a year ago, I would have said 'the longer the timer the better'...Today, I say they both serve their purpose. It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish with your advertising. If you have a long web page that has a lot of information, then a longer timed exchange would be to your benefit. Now if you want to 'get the word out' quickly and have a short website, then a short timer works very well.

Make sure the website you are promoting can quickly load into either timed exchange. You want sites that load quickly especially for hit exchange advertising. Having a small novel on one page will not do your business justice. Keep it SO simple!

I have had success with both, 15 second and 30 second exchanges, and I do tend to fall on the side of 'the longer the better'. But do not discard short timers. They are perfect for getting your word out quickly to a large audience!

Wow, where do I start?

Click Silo is one of the original hit exchanges on the net. By being one of the first, they had quite a good opportunity of becoming a very popular and exciting program to use and surf. That was a few years ago, today they are quite simply a program that had glimpses of greatness, but are stuck in the same state of affairs they were in when it was brought online.

There's never any e-mail updates and the design has stayed the same since day one. By being one of the first exchanges to use a 'color coded' cheat prevention, you would expect high quality traffic. This has come up in discussions I've had with some associates of mine this week, and no one can seem to agree on how much traffic these folks actually send?

I have a large downline in Click Silo and have credits in my account at all time. Problem is I tracked 22 hits this past month. Yes, 22 hits spread over 30 days. While others I've talked to say they have recieved much more than that, it has'nt been any great number. A program such as Click Silo's age and status should be delivering a lot more traffic than 22 hits a month.

This was once one of the better programs online, and I really hope they turn things around. Click Silo can once again be a leader, they just need to let people know they still exist!
