Welcome to the newest issue of the Hit Exchange News and this week's 'One To Click On by Jon'.

Downlines in a hit exchange are a very powerful thing. Take a look at programs like MPAM or Traffic Hoopla, their success can be seen as the power of building a downline, specifically in exchanges.

What does this accomplish? It gets you a chunk of your downline's traffic. Yes, you earn 'traffic' from your downline. And for some very good advertisers, this has meant thousands of hits a day, strickly from their downline's surfing. I'm a rare breed, I'm someone who has pretty decent downlines in various exchanges, but I still spend hours a day in them. I enjoy surfing, and hey, if I'm going to publish an e-zine about exchanges, I guess I should participate in them too! =)

Recently, a very PROFITABLE switch has been happening to what your downlines can earn you in a hit exchange. Now you can earn cash from whatever your downline spends on advertising, upgrades, etc. While you will not retire from what you can make, imagine if you had 5 exchanges (with a healthy downline) that earned you about $20 a month. Not too bad huh? $100 a month for 'clicking' and referring?

I think it's great and I applaud the owners who have implemented this type of commission to their program! It's a perfect way for you HEAVY clickers to get some extra cash each month. So what is my suggestion? BUILD those downlines! Get invovled with some of the downline building clubs or create one of your own. The great thing about this, is it's something you can do AS WELL as what you are presently promoting / advertising. And this is just free money, imagine what you could make if you upgraded and made even more commision? O.k., that's a whole different story, but believe me, it's a great way to build a new revenue stream that you may have never thought existed!

• Congratulations to Mystical Maze and Easy Hits 4 U for becoming the newest additions to the list of Award of Excellence winners. These two exchanges have been delivering the traffic week after week and while they may be newer programs, they do provide superior traffic, hit after hit! Congrats to both exchanges!

• News from the Hit Pulse folks this week. Like many of you may know, Hit Pulse has been plagued by 'surf bar' problems for quite some time. Ever since they released their new look, the surf bar has worked for some folks, and not for others. They kept working on it, and apparently they have fixed the surf bar problem. Everything does look fine so far, and traffic deliver speeds are at a break neck pace. We shall see if it lasts...

• Hit Snapper launched their new 'Hit Snapper 3' this week. Hit Snapper has been a rock solid performer for quite some time and definately one of the better exchanges online, and the new version has some very interesting features including a pro upgrade 'auction' where you can trade surplus credits for cash with other members. Not a bad way to start 2004!

• Want proof that the hit exchange industry is starting to mature? Has anyone noticed the 'new sites' being promoted on the exchanges? One can easily tell it's election year in the U.S.A. and many new sites have a political tone to them. People are trying to get elected, and it looks like some have even turned to the exchanges for exposure.

• Need more ways to make money with a hit exchange? Traffic Meet has just launched their new Surf 4 Cash feature which allows members to earn real cash for surfing the site. Many of these kind of promotions have been attempted before, but this exchange is owned by the I Love Clicks people so it will still be here in a month. Which is more than can be said for the majority of 'surf 4 cash' sites???

• I've been busy to increase the membership at Net Marketing Forum. As many of you know, this has become quite the 'hot bed' for rumours, news, information and even the odd 'harsh word'. "I have a question that perhaps many new marketers have. If a hosting plan has a bandwidth limit, how can I "convert" this figure to a rough estimate of the number of visitors I can support per month?"

Hey Aaron,

Thanks for the email.

Bandwidth is everything. Everytime anything is uploaded, viewed, downloaded or searched on your website, it counts towards your bandwidth. A big name exchange, can go through a lot of bandwidth...And take my forum for example, it's a popular forum but there are still only about 50-75 active members. However that does use up about 5-7 GB of bandwidth a month.

I would make sure that any hosting that you do get, not only has sufficent bandwidth, but your host knows that you are planning on creating and maintaining a hit exchange (if thats what you had in mind). Many hosts do not want to host exchanges because they do eat up a ton of bandwidth.

I'd say a new exchange should be able to handle about 10-15 GB a month, and once your exchange starts becoming very active, be ready to pay for a dedicated server =)

Over a year ago, this exchange was going to be something special. Look at the name, it was MPAM's first hit exchange that was not only branded by the Massive Passive Advertising Machine, but it had the memberbase out of the GATE to make this a sure fire hit.

While MPAM Start may not have lived up to the hype it had, it has become a very reliable program. It has had it's problems, but I think that can come from the high expectataions it had when it was first released.

The exchange runs on the now famous AScripts script so it does move hits at a steady pace. MPAM Start is one of the more active exchanges on the net and the majority of the database are MPAM members. This could work wonders if you wanted to target your advertising directly to MPAM members and surfers. Something of note is that it seems to be getting even more active, which is great for an exchange that already has a huge membership.

Overall, MPAM Start is a solid program. Nothing flashy, and there's no more hype surrounding it. It, like it's mother program, simply perform everyday and that's what makes this work. Active membership = Happy surfers!

Yet another interesting name...There's a meaning behind this one, I'm sure of it but rest assured, the script is VERY familiar.
